at a glance
A white wooded framed building sits at the top of a hill and was once the center of a growing German community. Today, our lives are full of technology, but Prairie Chapel reminds us of a time when horses, wagons, wooden stoves, one good pair of shoes, and visiting with your neighbors on the front porch were all foundations of this growing community. The people of Prairie Chapel lived in a much simpler time that some of us are completely unaware of.
1879-1944
At its peak, Prairie Chapel enrolled 70 students a year.
